Indian Affairs Coordinator — Matthew Hodges
Matthew Hodges is a from Kinston, N.C. and a Vigil Honor member of Croatan Lodge 117. He is a senior at East Carolina University majoring in Biology. Matthew also serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 447, Drum Committee Chairman for Croatan Lodge, and the Training Committee Chairman for Caswell District.
Section Indian Affairs Advisor — Eddie Cahoon
Eddie currently lives in Washington, NC and is a Vigil Honor member of Croatan Lodge 117. He will be serving as the Indian Affairs Coordinator for this Conclave. He believes his years of experience will help make this Conclave our best so far for IA.
Service Chairman — Connor Bardin
Connor is originally from Tallahassee, FL but now lives in Raleigh. He is currently a junior in high school. He hopes to help plan and carry out service projects that help people in need. He also hopes to raise awareness for important causes that impact our local area in NC. He believes this job is important because we are all part of the Brotherhood of Cheerful Service. Connor is also a staff member at Camp Durant, a BSA summer camp.
Service Adviser — Chris Nichols
Chris currently lives in Raleigh, NC and graduated with a degree in political science from North Carolina State University. Chris also has a law degree from Campbell University School of Law. This is his first year as an adviser for the section and is looking forward to what exciting service opportunities we can offer.
Conclave Chairman — Ben Skidmore
Ben is a native of Greensboro, NC and will be serving as our 2017 Conclave Chairman. He hails from Tsoiotsi Tsogalii and is a Vigil Honor member. Ben is responsible for overseeing the planning of Conclave by our service lodge.
Promotions Chair — Ian McPherson
Ian is from Winston-Salem, North Carolina and is currently a high school student. In his free time, he enjoys a mix of graphic design, technical production, woodworking, and Scouting. For the 2018 Conclave, he hopes to do everything he can to communicate Conclave and Section information to our Lodges and Arrowmen in the most effective, engaging, and creative way possible. Ian is currently the Lodge Chief for Wahissa Lodge.
High Adventure Chairman — Sam Brohaugh
Sam is from Hampstead, North Carolina and currently attends Cape Fear Community College. In his free time, he enjoys being an active Boy Scout and playing soccer. At the 2018 Conclave, he plans to raise awareness for the Order of the Arrow High Adventure programs and scholarships.
Promotions Adviser — Joe Daley
Joe Daley is from Wilmington, NC and a member of Occoneechee Lodge. He has served as the vice chief of training and promotions chairman on the section level. On the lodge level, Joe has served as the vice chief of administration and secretary. He is currently a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in economics. In his free time, Joe enjoys playing crossword puzzles.
Promotions Adviser — Rob Shaffer
Rob Shaffer is a member of Klahican Lodge 331, where he enjoys serving as an adviser. Rob enjoys backpacking around North Carolina and visiting Camp Bowers in White Oak, North Carolina.
Recognition’s Chair — Brandyn Myers
Brandyn is originally from Quakertown, Pennsylvania but currently lives in Brown Summit, North Carolina. He’s currently a sophomore studying music education at Western Carolina University. In his free, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family and always love to get out to Cherokee Scout Reservation for the weekend whenever he can. He enjoys playing Trumpet and whatever other instruments he can sit down and learn. For the 2018 Conclave, he hopes to have all Lodges aware of and participating in all of the criteria for Honor Lodge and other awards earned at conclave. He previously served as a two-term Chapter Chief, various Lodge Vice Chief positions and Lodge Chief for Tsoiotsi Tsogalii Lodge.
Recognition’s Adviser — Tommy Murray
Tommy Murray is an active member of Tsoiotsi Tsogali Lodge 70 based out of Greensboro, North Carolina. Tommy has served as Section SR-7B’s Recognitions and Awards Committee Advisor for the past few years. He enjoys serving in this position and looks forward to seeing the lodges compete for the section awards at Conclave 2014.
Shows Chair — Ethan Syster
Ethan is currently a high school student in Wilmington, North Carolina. In his free time, he enjoys going camping, hiking, and kayaking. He hopes to make the shows at the 2018 Conclave exciting and impactful so that they inspire the arrowman attending his first conclave and re-kindle the spirit of cheerful service in the arrowman at his 10th conclave.
Finance Adviser —Andrew Erickson
Andrew is originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he now lives in King, North Carolina. He graduated from Virgina Tech in 1987 with a degree in accounting. In his free time, he enjoys watching PGA Golf. For the 2018 Conclave, he looks forward to establishing the procedures for the change in the handling of conclave finances and educating Council of Chiefs on how Section finances work.
